The quiet, cozy feel from our window made a nice impression, even though it looked onto the neighboring hotel's wall with only a little sea visible. We stayed in a standard room with a balcony. Compared with places we've stayed elsewhere in Ukraine, it was among the best: pleasant decor, everything we needed worked, the furniture and appliances weren't "Soviet," the mattress and pillows were comfortable, and cleanliness was mostly fine. There was only one chair in the double room, but they brought us another as soon as we asked. The staff were polite, and the little checkout cakes were a nice touch. Paintings cover the whole hotel, too. At the beach, there was a shower, sun loungers, and umbrellas, always in plentiful supply. There are some real downsides. Wi-Fi was very poor, and the soundproofing was bad, so noisy neighbors could ruin your stay. The neighbors' air conditioner hung over our balcony and dripped onto the clothes dryer, so we couldn't dry anything there. Restaurant prices are extremely high. We can afford them, but there's a limit, and 500 UAH for coffee and a pastry for two is too much. The restaurant was always busy despite the prices, though it's hard to tell whether that was because guests were spending freely or because the food was good. The river isn't as intimidating as it looks in the photo, but there are lots of mosquitoes in the evenings, so bring repellent. This isn't a place for a luxury holiday, aside from the restaurant prices. It's a decent standard stay, though the room rates could be a bit lower for that level.
