Hotel Sofia

Great relief after a lot of pain, and some great memories too.

Worst place. There was no breakfast.

We stayed in 2026, and the experience was very negative. Breakfast and the warm pool that had been promised both turned out to cost extra. The pool was dirty and the water cold. There wasn’t even a kettle in the room, so we had to go to the first floor for boiling water. Prices were very high for conditions that didn’t match the cost. It was uncomfortable, and we won’t return.

We especially enjoyed the warm, heated pool, which was indoors and lit. Even on rainy days, it was pleasant to swim. There’s also a sauna. The pool is available by appointment, so you have it to yourselves, and it costs 250 UAH / hour. The hosts, Vitaly and Natalia, were welcoming and friendly, and an attentive maid helped us carry our things to and from the 4th floor. We stayed in July 2025 at the Sofia Hotel in Yaremche with two granddaughters. Our room was spacious, with comfortable beds and good mattresses, snow-white bedding, practical furniture, and a large terrace with a lovely mountain view. The girls spent nearly all their time in the room on the terrace swing. The small courtyard is cozy, with lots of flowers, garden furniture, and little spots to relax with coffee. The owner makes delicious coffee from his own recipe, which is worth trying. There’s a barbecue area, a vat, a trampoline for children, and a place to park a car. Breakfasts were very tasty. I especially remember the omelet with vegetables that the owner prepares herself, be sure to try it. There’s no kettle in the room, as people often mention in reviews, but that wasn’t a problem for us. You can get a thermos of boiling water from the owner or order coffee to your room. Yaremche also has plenty of colorful coffee shops, pizzerias, and cafes where you can sit and have a tasty meal. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, Spar and Tavria supermarkets, and McDonald's, while still being away from the noisy road. That made for a peaceful, comfortable atmosphere. We remember our stay at Sofia with warmth and gratitude and would definitely come back if we get the chance.
