There’s potential here, but a lot would need to change. I couldn’t find the receptionist easily, since there’s no desk at the entrance, and the room had a curtain instead of a door. The shower was over the toilet, the mattress was foam, and there were mosquitoes in the room. The kitchen was always dirty and seemed to double as a garage, with car parts and other things in it. Bins weren’t emptied often, and there were flies in the kitchen and common rooms. The hostel seems suited mainly to Ukrainian school groups arriving by bus or van, and even they expect better accommodation. It’s about a 25-minute walk to the new town and around 50 minutes to the old town. The walk to the new town is dull, with nothing around except dogs. There are untagged street dogs on nearby roads, and some try to attack. It happened to me, so I’d carry a knife.

What made this hostel stand out was the staff. Inna, Nataliia and Andrey were all so friendly and helpful with anything we needed. The bar downstairs was excellent, and both the room and bathroom were clean. I’ve stayed in many hostels while travelling around Europe, but none have been as good as this one. I recommend it to anyone visiting Kamyanets Podilsky.

The price is really attractive, and the interior has a nice feel to it. The hosts are kind and welcoming, and bringing bicycles was no problem.

The location is good, and the staff were always smiling and ready to help. Staying here was an unforgettable experience. I recommend it if you want to enjoy your holiday :)
