A very good hotel, with good staff and a good location.

The location is the only thing I liked. The apartment wasn't clean, the repairs were poor, the shower and taps were rusty, and the furniture looked like it had been through Armageddon. There was only a TV, though it was decent. Three days before check-in, they called and said they wouldn't let me check in because I'm 20 and their policy is 21, even though that policy wasn't stated anywhere. After talking with the manager, I eventually got my point across and explained that I'd be staying with a man who "meets their criteria." The neighbors got into a fight and started screaming at 12 in the morning, so we called the police. The administration didn't even apologize to us.

My bus ran late, but I was still able to check in without any trouble, even at a late hour. The room was clean, tidy, and ready, with towels, slippers, and extra blankets. Everything in the building worked flawlessly, and the staff were polite, left me alone, and didn't give me any trouble. For a fairly reasonable price, it's the best option, especially given the very central location in Kharkiv. The only small catch is that it's on the fifth floor, which may not suit people with health problems. I'll definitely use the hotel again when I get the chance.

The best parts were the location, close to the center and metro, the hot water, and the view from the window. But the room was cold, and the problems started before we even settled in. We had booked ahead, yet on arrival they said our chosen room was unavailable because of a radiator issue. They told us while I was carrying my suitcase up to the 4th floor. The two alternatives they showed us were split-level rooms with indoor stairs. They first showed them from the entrance so I wouldn't walk in with my shoes on, then sent a website link when I asked for photos to show my husband. It didn't work, so they filmed the rooms instead. Later I found that one radiator in our booked room wasn't working. A plumber was already fixing things in other rooms, and I waited inside until it was repaired. Even with two radiators, the room stayed cool. We slept in our clothes under two blankets, and one towel rail wasn't enough to warm the bathroom. The air conditioner didn't work either. They said it isn't used below -10, which we only learned after checking in. The temperature at night was about -15. The room could use cosmetic repairs: stains on the walls, a dent from the bathroom door handle, and scratches on the floor from the sofa bed. The closet was tiny for four people, and about half of it was taken up by the sofa bed mattress. I asked them to remove it so we could hang our things, and one closet handle was coming loose. Cleaning wasn't good. There was someone else's hair on the shower shelf and mold on the tiles. The kitchen area also felt unfinished. The cabinet holders where the microwave sits didn't work, so using it was awkward, like you needed a third hand. We were given slippers when we arrived, but there was no rag for wiping shoes after being outside, and no broom or dustpan. I messaged to ask for extra slippers and never got a reply. The Wi-Fi was unstable one evening. We paid 950 UAH per night, and I can't say how that compares with the market for these conditions.
