Hotel Yuvileyny

The room wasn't worth the 1100 rubles they charged. There was no real heating, just one heater for two rooms, nowhere near enough in winter. The beds and mattresses were in awful shape, the shower leaked, and the curtain had mold on it. They call it a superior room, but that seems to be just a label. The TV didn't work, and the remote batteries looked chewed up and ancient. There was no kettle or hairdryer either, and the staff only shrugged when we asked questions. To make things worse, the owner raised the price from 1100 rubles to 1200 rubles on arrival for the New Year holidays, without warning us beforehand. A terrible stay, and they need to rethink both the prices and how they treat guests instead of raising rates whenever they feel like it.

There is a nice view from the window, and the hotel is right in the city center. Those are its only real advantages. Inside, it feels more like an old Soviet dormitory. The room was dirty, the shower head didn't work, and the shower cabin was covered in mold, so washing was impossible. There were no robes, slippers, or hairdryer. The bedding and blankets were dreadful, the furniture looked worn out, and the beds creaked so badly they seemed ready to fall apart. At most, I'd say this place is worth 100 hryvnias, since the main thing it offers is a roof over your head instead of sleeping outside.

For 500 UAH, the superior room is a cold, shabby place. One small heater can't warm it properly, and by the second night even the bedding felt a little damp. The bathroom is passable, but just as cold, with no exhaust fan, so it stays damp. Towels may or may not be available, and toiletries are only left on check-in day. Sometimes the bathroom water disappears. They don't empty the room's trash or put the blanket into its duvet cover. At check-in, the service is polite and the place looks clean, but if you haven't paid again by morning, the mean old woman throws you out. Paying for a day should mean having until 11:00 AM to leave, instead of being evicted whenever a pensioner decides. The room isn't worth the price.

The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, and you can see they've been renovated, right down to the metal and plastic windows. For the price, it's a good hotel and works fine for a night or two. The hallway could use attention, especially the reception, which looks like a nurse's station in a hospital. I'd recommend it.
