Bratislava Hotel

There's no grip in the 25 cm rulers, so it's hard to write with the pen (backgammon, checkers, chess, cards, plastic or lizine).

The rooms have been renovated and have modern plumbing; mine was tidy, with clean sheets, a fridge and a TV. The hotel belongs to the Ministry of Defense, and the reception and corridors still have a Soviet-era smell. Staff were friendly, though older. Breakfast wasn't included, despite what the booking page said. You can buy one for 80 UAH. The selection is wide and the food is tasty, but it felt a little expensive. Still, it's convenient not having to look for breakfast in an unfamiliar city. A good option for a business trip.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the location is peaceful, in a quiet military town away from the city. There are two markets and a cafe nearby, though I'd suggest eating in town. The room was warm with hot water, and the bed was firm. Sheets were clean but dated, the towels looked worn, and the shower had stains. The TV is an old model with 24 channels. The pillows are feather-filled, which I didn't like.

The staff are friendly, and the hotel is comfortable and reasonably priced. The food was fresh and tasty, though the restaurant only has set menus for breakfast and dinner. Getting to the center is the main downside, and there's no secure parking. Private parking is about 200 meters away.
