Favor Sport Hotel

The rooms are clean and pleasant, with comfortable beds and roomy bathrooms. Reception staff were friendly, but English ability varied a lot. Some spoke at an intermediate level, while others knew practically nothing, and that led to several misunderstandings. I realize this is Kiev, and some may think it’s arrogant to expect English, but given the hotel’s prices and its apparent focus on foreign guests, I’d expect communication to be easier. The food was okay, not great. Breakfast could use more choices compared with other hotels, and when food, glasses, or plates ran low, replacements took a while, so we had to wait. Decent hotel, but it could improve.

The WiFi was awful, slow and dropping out several times an hour. There’s no soundproofing, so it feels like everything is happening in your room, even when you can’t see anyone 🙂. Room cleaning happened at inconsistent times, anywhere from morning to late evening, and restaurant portions were small. On the plus side, staff were nice and helpful, the room was clean, linens were fresh, the bed was good quality, and room service brought still water daily with cleaning. No elevator, probably why it’s called sport.

A comfortable mattress, a clean and convenient room, and polite staff. There’s also a 15% discount at the local restaurant. The room had no fridge, though, and there were no paper napkins. For two people over two days, they provided just one roll of toilet paper. Soundproofing was also missing.

It’s a new hotell, and I really enjoyed staying there. The bed was good, everything was clean, and breakfast was very good, maybe more suited to eastern Europeans. The sound insulation could be better. Some people were shouting in the corridors at 1 a.m., though that was their behavior. I also missed having a small fridge.
