Hotel Versailles

The building is new and looked very good, with large, nicely kept rooms and interiors. Still, my stay was disappointing. The hotel is on the second floor with no lift, so it isn’t accessible for people with disabilities and is inconvenient if you’re carrying heavy or bulky luggage. The restaurant was being renovated, so breakfast came to the rooms. I requested 8 AM, but it arrived at 9:05 the first morning and 8:25 the next. On that second day, the butter and cheese for my toast showed up five minutes after I’d finished eating. There also wasn’t a hotel parking area yet when I visited. The parking was about 500 metres away, and there wasn’t a good place to stop near the hotel to unload luggage. There’s a disco and Karaoke bar downstairs on weekends. They weren’t open during my visit, so I can’t say how much noise reaches the rooms.

The staff were nice and breakfast was good, but for business this was the worst hotel. I couldn’t rest after work because of the noise. It’s between a nightclub with constant music and a bowling alley above the rooms. The bowling noise was unbearable, even with earplugs. If you’re lucky and the bowling alley isn’t open illegally, you might sleep between 2 and 6 AM. The walls between rooms are paper thin, and I could hear everything on both sides. They promised to move me, but the noise was just as bad. After three days, I left having slept only six hours in total.

The bathroom was nice and breakfast tasty, but the bed was horrible. You can hear the bowling center next door through the shared wall all the time, and the reception and corridor are loud too. The hotel is above a nightclub, so you can guess what most of the clients are like. I’d booked five days, but left right after the first night. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms are spacious, new, and nicely decorated, and I found the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is on the first floor of the mall. There’s a nightclub and Karaoke downstairs, which could be a problem for some people. I didn’t find the noise too disturbing myself.
