I think it’s closed now.

For 1250, the room seems to offer the location in the center, because everything else was terrible. The Wi-Fi was bad, the room smelled like sewage, and it was cold because they’d forgotten the air conditioner remote. The blind holders were broken, so I couldn’t close the window with the blinds. The kettle was rusty, the dishes were old, and the sink, shower, and kettle all seemed due for replacement. The towels were awful too. The administration was in touch, but that didn’t help much. I don’t recommend it.

The room had no soundproofing, dirty curtains, bedspread, sofa and carpet, and used slippers that were disgusting. There were no shelves in the damaged closet, no deep plates or teaspoons, and the TV had no decent channels, mostly just snow. The Wi-Fi wasn’t on when we arrived, and they wouldn’t have turned it on if we hadn’t insisted. The shower shampoo and gel were combined and only lasted one day. A piece of floorboard was broken off. Although the room was listed as non-smoking, there were cigarette butts and ash on the canopy. The window wouldn’t close, the TV remote was damaged, one lamp barely worked and another didn’t turn on at all. Check-in was a mess. The website said after 2:30 PM, but I’d asked about arriving at 11:30-12. They said they’d let us in if a room was ready, or we could leave our bags and return after 2:00 PM. When we arrived, they said we were early, the room wasn’t ready, and we couldn’t leave our bags. After a scene and a demand for our money back, they let us in, saying the room was ready after all. The contract said check-in at 1:00 PM, and the “hotel” rules on the door didn’t match the contract.

The bed creaked badly, and the boiler only supplied water to the bathroom, leaving only cold water in the kitchen. The toilet brush broke, sorry for the detail, and should’ve been replaced. You’re the one cleaning the toilet with it, elbow-deep in the bowl. It’s a clean, cozy, quiet apartment in the city’s historic part. Tea, coffee and sugar are basic hospitality, and a liter of clean water would be a simple way to care for guests. Is that really so expensive? I don’t understand whether people make things so bad in Ukraine, or Ukraine makes people so bad.
