I had a terrible experience and ended up canceling. I couldn’t reach the hostel at night when I arrived at 21.00. The entrance felt like a hidden valley, and beyond the door there was a large construction area that was dark and dusty everywhere, and maybe unsafe. I’d call and ask whether the construction is finished before booking.

We weren’t told before arrival that the building was undergoing major renovation. It was very noisy and felt unsafe, and we understand the building needed refurbishment, but we should have been informed. When we tried to explain calmly at reception that this wasn’t what we expected and that we wanted to resolve it, a man we didn’t know came to translate. He didn’t introduce himself and was rude when we described the inconvenience. After we decided not to stay, he shouted that we had to pay. During the argument he threatened us, saying we wouldn’t get back across the border. When we wanted to call the police, he acted confident he was in the right, though he seemed uncomfortable and started panicking. It was a very bad experience. I don’t recommend this place.

A great hostel for more than just spending the night. You can hang out and meet people there too. They’re making changes now, and it looks like it’ll turn into something neat.
