Hostel Villa Roma

Super.

There are some useful things here: a decent room, kitchen supplies like coffee, tea, spices, and oil, laundry facilities, plus chess, checkers, table football, and other entertainment. The location has a downside though. It takes about 20 minutes by bus to get to the center, and buses run every 15-20 minutes only until 9:30 p.m. The price felt a little high for the conditions, and there’s no soundproofing, so you hear everything. The bigger problem was check-in. We gave them our arrival time of 12:30 a.m. when booking and got confirmation that it was fine, but when we arrived there was no room for us. We basically had to sleep on the street, and it seems they can easily overlook your check-in time.

We went with friends from June 3rd to June 5th, 2016, and really enjoyed it. The house felt cozy, with beautiful views, and the hosts were pleasant and made sure we had what we needed. The rooms are spacious, some with fireplaces, and every room has a TV. There’s WiFi too. The center is about 20 minutes away, though the train station is farther. Shuttle buses are available. The place had dishes, a hairdryer, iron, towels, tea, coffee, salt, and sugar ready for us. The price for the comfort was excellent, so I’ve recommended it to all my friends. Thanks for taking such good care of your guests.

For all the trouble we had, the comfortable bed, wardrobe, full kitchen setup, washing machine, towels, and shower gel were the few good things. The hostel itself was nice, but 1,000 UAH per day during the holidays was an unreasonable price. My boyfriend and I had arranged with the hostess to arrive between midnight and 1 a.m. We told her the time and agreed on it, but when we got there nobody was waiting, and they wouldn’t even open the door. On the phone, we were told we could check in at 10 a.m. Since it was a holiday, every hotel and hostel was already booked, so we spent the night outside, moving between whatever places were still open. They never apologized. Instead, they criticized us for not calling to remind them about our check-in.
