I judge places against what they cost, so five stars from me doesn’t mean somewhere has to be top notch. I’m looking at service and basic cleanliness. I stayed here in summer 2023 while touring eastern Europe alone on my motorcycle. It was a nice hotel, very clean, and everything worked. The room decor gave it an old-time feel, which I liked. The other services at the property seemed to be closed, probably because of the geopolitical situation, and there weren’t many guests even though it was the weekend. The reception was quite helpful.

The rooms were clean and cozy, and the food at Argo restaurant was really tasty for an affordable price. I’d definitely recommend trying the soups “solyanka” and “borscht”, along with Vareniki. The downsides were that it’s far from the center and the reception staff were a little annoying.

The food was amazing, both in taste and presentation. I’m saying that as a sous chef at a French four star restaurant. The rooms were great too, and everything about the place felt fantastic. Thanks to the lovely owner, the sweet waitress, and the great cook. I’d absolutely recommend it and will be back.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the place was tidy and clean. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was included in the £17 price, so that seemed fair. It’s a bit in the middle of nowhere, though, and there was an annoying toilet smell. I’m not sure, but I think a toilet may have been blocked.

A refreshing stay, with clean rooms at a moderate price and an excellent restaurant.
