Leosphere Hostel

I liked the location, and I did meet a nice guy there. We had a pleasant chat. But everything else was awful. The place was filthy, from the rooms and beds to the bathrooms and lockers, and there were drunk people lying on the floor. Under the sheets on my bed I found all sorts of debris. The pillow, which I assume had been white, was stained beige and yellow and smelled so bad I used my backpack instead. The clean sheets looked clean enough, though I can't be sure. I checked carefully for bed bugs and, surprisingly, didn't see any. The bathrooms had crusty whitish grime everywhere, and small insects, like tiny cockroaches, were crawling around on the sinks. By morning, every bathroom I could get into had run out of toilet paper. I didn't ask for more because the young woman at the desk was asleep, and when people spoke to her she answered rudely in Ukrainian. She did know English. At check-in she wouldn't give me clean sheets or a locker key until I pushed for them. Then, about half an hour later, my bed was assigned to someone else. I was in the shower when that guest arrived, but he was a nice guy and we laughed it off and chatted. I only stayed one night. I considered showering, sleeping on a bench, then coming back for another shower in the morning, but the curfew and the prospect of another uncomfortable shower put me off. Such a shame, since there's a wonderful hostel nearby for a similar price. This is a real disgrace to the amazing city of L'viv.
