On The Square

The staff made the stay feel genuinely welcoming, and the little practical details throughout the hotel were unusually well thought out. Breakfast is served in a charming corner, or you can arrange to have it brought to your room the night before. Water is freely available just outside the rooms, and the toiletries come in generous individual bottles with a lovely scent. Reception can even point you to the shop next door if you want to buy more. I was especially impressed by the shower: roomy, with strong pressure from both the regular and overhead heads. The mattress is firm and comfortable, the linens are quality and neatly ironed, and there are actual plates and utensils in the room. Even the kettle is metal inside, so you don’t get flakes in the water. A couple of practical things to know: some windows face the inner terrace instead of the street, though they open fully, and the AC works well. One of the two buildings has no lift, so request the other building in advance if that matters to you. Since the hotel sits in the old town, taxis can’t pull up to the door and you’ll walk about a block. I found it well worth it. I stay in 3 and 4 star hotels all the time, and have seen plenty cut back on basics like linens, furniture, toiletries, towels, water pressure, and hospitality. This place gets those things right at a high level. It really did exceed my expectations.

The location is fantastic, with the sights and restaurants all nearby, and the room was nice too. It’s expensive, but I thought it was worth it, especially because of the staff. We arrived six hours before check-in and they kept our suitcases, then called two hours early to say the room was ready. That made the stay so comfortable. Great service, and I’d stay here again. ❤️

I only had one night here and really wish I could’ve stayed longer. The room was quiet to an almost surprising degree, even though the hotel is right in the busy historic center across from city hall. Inside, the building and my suite were modern, clean, and beautifully decorated. There’s a water dispenser on every floor, and the TV had YouTube and other apps, so I could watch some of my usual channels. The staff were friendly, and I enjoyed the stay so much I’d definitely come back. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lviv. Five stars.

I first stayed here in 2017 in a lovely room overlooking the Square, and came back this week on another visit to Lviv. The hotel has expanded since then. This time our freshly renovated top-floor room was all new, clean, and equipped with what we needed. The staff were attentive and friendly. We arrived wet from the rain, before check-in, carrying four suitcases from the airport. The hotel couldn’t get us into a room early, which was understandable during the fully booked Christmas season, but they took our bags and gave us a fan to dry off and an umbrella. The lack of a lift wasn’t an issue when I had only a weekender bag, but it was tough with all four suitcases. I’ll still be back next time I’m in Lviv.
