Paradise apartment 2

The location, transport connections, and welcome were all great. We were received by the landlady’s grandmother, who lives nearby. A few things would’ve been useful to know beforehand, though. The apartment is up on the third floor, reached by its own steep staircase, not by the driveway. When arriving late, you need to keep quiet in the courtyard. It felt a bit like sneaking into the kitchen at 1 a.m. as a tipsy, badly behaved cat, with the landlady waiting in curlers and a rocking chair. It was cold inside, as can be typical in Lviv, and there was no hot water. The shower stall doesn’t work; this is written on it, but nobody warned us ahead of time. The apartment has a double bed and a kitchen sofa bed that folds out. At 500 UAH for four people, it worked out cheaper per person than even the cheapest hostel, and at least we didn’t have to share a room with five bunk beds. The price was otherwise very fair, and I might come back next year because it’s near the Dnister Hotel, where we have our annual conferences. Their prices are out of this world. Still, the lack of a usable shower and those submarine-like steps, especially awkward on the tight turns in my shoes, took away from the stay. Sorry, one star off. With a working shower, the apartment would be perfect value. Thank you.
