We spent an entire day trying to sort out the room mess with the manager. We had booked several rooms, plus a couple more, for a student trip, with Pop Art staff handling the accommodation. There was less space than we’d agreed on, and some students ended up sharing rooms with strangers. The people left without a place were sent to other hostels, only to find out they’d be put in staff rooms. The conditions didn’t justify the price at all.
There’s no proper shared hangout area, so we ended up using the kitchen, where we also had to keep quiet because it was right by a room door. The decor is cute and very pop art, though. I stayed in the dorm setup, with two connected rooms and four bunk beds in each. For 14 people there were just two toilets and one shower. I got lucky: our schedules didn’t overlap much, and the room wasn’t full on the first day. Mornings were the most annoying, since people left the room door open and the shower and hairdryer noise carried in. It got quieter after 10am.
The staff were welcoming and friendly, and it was nice to have people there who spoke English. The place was clean, with a modern design, and only 800 feet from downtown. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. I’d recommend it.
We only left our bags here for a day, but the place looked clean and well managed from what we saw. The staff were really friendly and helpful too.
Really affordable, in a great spot, and the staff were friendly. The gas or power did cut out for short periods sometimes, but I still had an amazing time.
