Premium Hostel

The old Lviv feel is still there in the building and room interiors, and I loved that. It’s a quiet spot with a great view and a really central location. They met me and helped with my luggage; I’d let them know my arrival time, and there’s also a phone number in Booking. Such a magical place.

The beds are the big problem: they’re only about 70 cm wide, which is the minimum size. I’m a tiny 48 kg East Asian woman and even I found one too small. The length is the standard 2 m, but there was plenty of room between each bed and its lockers, around 30 cm, so the narrow width seems unnecessary. Those mattresses only cost a few hundred grivens apart. Inside, though, the hostel is new and IKEA-style, with clean, orderly rooms, new bathrooms and kitchen, and a good number of toilets for the beds. Everything you need is there.

The location is central and quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the cleaning was spot on. There’s also a friendly family of cats downstairs. But the old building feels neglected, and the stairwell smelled of urine. Cables hang from the room walls, which seems like an easy thing to fix. Wi-Fi was weak and unreliable, so I had to use UMTS to work on my laptop. I can’t believe they still hadn’t set up decent Wi-Fi in 2018. The pillows were too thick, and the shower pressure and temperature kept changing by themselves. No blackout curtains either, like everywhere in Ukraine.

Clean, secure and comfortable, with great value for the money. Viola, Hrystia, Alina and Galya were all as pleasant and helpful as you could hope for. I’d highly recommend this hostel.
