Kapitan Apartments

We stayed for four days with our small child. There’s a balcony, though it’s tiny and only partly renovated. You can step outside, but I wouldn’t let children out there. The beach is a fairly close 15-20 minutes away, with decent places to eat nearby, including "U Fontana" and "ElSolo." There’s a lovely concierge on the ground floor and a good playground in the courtyard. The owner had the room cleaned after we raised the problems, leaving only the dusty air conditioner as an issue. On arrival, the room was untidy, there was food left in the fridge, the bathroom was scary, and the AC was dusty. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with allergies. Without that dirt and mess at check-in, the stay would have been fine.

I found this place disgusting. There’s nowhere to park, and residents are completely unfriendly. Locals are ready to shit on cars with foreign plates, while the housing office staff are horribly rude. Dogs leave mess on the sidewalks, and the complex has nowhere for children to play. In summer it’s crowded with vacationers, noise, and drinking. There’s a store in the courtyard. There are three apartments with prostitutes here, in fact, more. I wouldn’t rent a place here; there are lots of visiting thieves who rob holidaymakers.

Kapitan is a handsome red brick complex of three buildings, within a secured area and with private parking. You’ll find a convenience store, bank and ATM, notary office, and other services inside. Close by are Taras Shevchenko Park, Lanzheron Beach, the modern Chernomorets Stadium, Nemo Dolphinarium, amusement parks, and plenty of restaurants, cafés, and other entertainment.

The building front is lovely, but the apartments get drafty. Upkeep costs a lot too, including a 250 UAH concierge charge for each apartment.
