Kosher Hostel

We were only in Odessa in transit, arriving in the morning and leaving again that evening. They let us check in early, and the price was quite reasonable. Some people complain about old furniture, but have they seen what places in central Odessa cost? I thought this was a very decent hotel, with responsive staff who helped whenever we needed something.

I was left outside in the rain after being told that the room I’d booked had been taken. They offered me a place on the outskirts, which I refused. They said they’d sort it out, but nobody called me back. Then today they canceled my Booking.com reservation because I supposedly hadn’t shown up, and the listing says I’ll be fined for the no-show. These people are scammers.

The service was quick, from their online replies to check-in and checkout, and everyone I dealt with was pleasant. The price was nice for a central location. But the room’s cleanliness was awful: cobwebs, stained bedding, cockroaches, and dirt on the shelves. There wasn’t even a broom, so we had to make do with whatever we could find. I didn’t expect new furniture or appliances for that price, but please pay attention to the cleaning.

For the price in the city center, the conditions were fine and the room had what I needed. There’s a mini kitchen with the necessary dishes. A generator was a big plus too, since the lights, Wi-Fi, and water kept working during power outages.
