Salve Casa

I only rented a room for one night, and checking in was easy. The room was tidy and clean, with a comfortable double bed. There was a fan, plus the basics: four towels, a hairdryer, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, cups, microwave, knife, and plates. The shared facilities were on the floor: two toilets, two showers, and two sinks. Even so, I found it comfortable and convenient. I’d recommend it.

We’d been firmly against staying in hostels, but were trying to find somewhere quickly and decided to give this one a chance. The administrator was helpful and friendly, showed us everything, and was reachable by phone around the clock. They’d come over if you asked. The place felt cozy, almost like home. Beds were new and clean, the mattresses orthopedic, and the towels bright white. The showers and bathrooms were spotless. Three of the four rooms were occupied while we were there. There was hot and cold water, and a hairdryer, iron, and ironing board were available to use. We were also surprised to see fire extinguishers and alarms in every room. We tried to find something wrong but couldn’t. Wishing Salve lots of success and happy residents.

Salve Apartments on Sofievskaya Street was dirty, and the bed hadn’t been changed. The service was rude. I had an unpleasant stay and wouldn’t recommend it.

Hostel Salve made a better impression on me than all my walks around Odessa. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting the Southern Palmyra, meaning Odessa. It has a kitchenette for warming food and a few books in the hallway. The room rules are colorful and written with a touch of Yudes humor. There are no limits on coming and going; we were given keys to both the hostel and our room. We also had our clothes washed for 50 UAH, and they came back folded and smelling lovely. They even provided rubber slippers for the shower. The hostel is very clean, including the rooms and bathroom. Our room had a kettle, cups, sugar, and coffee, along with two fluffy towels per person. The bedding was clean, ironed, and smelled of pleasant conditioner. There were orthopedic mattresses, carpeted floors that were great for sleeping, and pillows on a wide windowsill. Cherry blossoms showed outside the window. A chest of drawers opened out into a handy table. The interior is wonderfully romantic, and the place is incredibly sweet. Walking in felt like being transported from Ukraine to Italy. The location is central but on quiet streets, at the Nekrasov and Gogol Street corner. The hostel itself was peaceful too, with windows facing the courtyards.
