Cleanliness was the first thing that stood out to me, and the staff are friendly and professional. The owners are a very polite couple who speak English. The kitchen stays open all day, and you really should try their cottage cheese pancakes, sirniki! It’s right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of downtown, the beach, the famous Privoz food market, and the main train station. This was my fifth stay, and I’d happily recommend the hotel.

The shower had a bathtub with a split-level floor that felt dangerous and was uncomfortable to use. I’ve traveled all over the world and never come across anything like it. My room’s air conditioner blew dusty, dirty air. After staying there I had allergies and needed antihistamines and antibiotics to recover. Payment was cash only, which was inconvenient when I was renting three rooms for five days and would rather have paid by credit card.

I can’t recommend this hotel. The staff came across as rough, weren’t polite, and didn’t smile. When I offered help with translation, they said they’d use Google Translate. They don’t know English.

The room was clean, but much smaller than expected and didn’t look like the booking photo. We were woken by noise in the corridor during the night, and the window faced a wall.

The reception staff were cooperative. There weren’t any facilities, though it is right in the city center.
