This is a mid-range hotel in a convenient spot, at the crossing of October and Sinna Street. Single and double rooms can be booked economically. The provincial government building across the street makes for a beautiful view, and there are various offices in the same building as the hotel. There’s a lift, and famous restaurants and supermarkets are nearby.

The rooms are small and very bare. The hotel is also home to small company offices, massage parlors, barbers, beauty businesses, and travel agencies, and all sorts of smells reach the corridor. The location gets busy traffic from one of the city’s central streets. I was concerned about security because the lobby guard lets anyone in without asking questions.

They don’t give you slippers or an extra blanket, and the TV doesn’t work. Bad experience. The hostel is much better than this hotel.

The water smells like dog piss, and we had to put on our own sheets. There’s no room service, and the internet doesn’t work.

I got the Soviet hotel experience I was looking for. Poltava is a sleepy town, and this was a sleepy, no-frills hotel, but everything worked as it should.
