Forsage Hostel

The staff were friendly, the beds comfortable, and the rooms clean. A modern hotel!

The hotel had more than we needed for a comfortable stay: good apartments, a bathhouse, barbecue, and a cafe with tasty food at pleasantly affordable prices. We only stayed a few hours, which was a shame, and would happily return for longer. We booked the day before arriving in Ukraine so we could rest a bit after the road, and that turned out to be exactly the right call. A special mention for the man at reception, who was extremely pleasant, polite, and attentive to guests. He actually called us himself to offer an earlier check-in, showing he'd remembered and was looking out for us. We were allowed in early without an extra charge, which was lovely. The stay left us with very positive impressions.

The hotel is outside the center, but that wasn't a problem. I was happy with the stay overall. There's a place to sit and relax on the grounds, and the hotel has its own cafe. The room was warm and had a balcony. A mini-fridge would be useful, since storing food on the balcony works in winter but not in summer. The toilet brush was rusty and could do with replacing. I arrived exhausted with a heavy suitcase, and although my room was on the second floor, they carried the bag up for me, which I really appreciated. I'd called ahead about checking in early. They couldn't promise anything and offered another option that didn't work for me, but when my room was ready sooner, they called straight away. The next day, after the dirty weather had made the room messy, I asked for cleaning. They didn't turn me down and cleaned everything, so I'm grateful for that too.

The view of the Carpathians, all the smiles, and the warm atmosphere made Forsage feel like visiting old friends. The triple room we booked exceeded what we expected. The charm isn't about a luxurious interior, but the harmony in the details. You can tell people put their hearts into the place, along with their money. At reception, a very friendly woman made us feel welcome right away. Everyone working there was sincere, attentive, and kind. Special thanks to the girls in the kitchen, who serve dishes with real skill and bring warmth and good spirits with them. When I come back to Uzhhorod, I'm sure I'll stay here again. Prices are reasonable, it's comfortable, and they take such good care of guests. Forsage leaves you with an unforgettable feeling that warms the soul.
