Rakhiv Plai

I wouldn't recommend paying in advance. Unfortunately, I felt the owners were trying to cheat you at every turn.

We spent five nights at Rakhiv Plai and loved the quiet, clean air, mountain views, and sense of being cut off from the world. We'd planned the trip two months earlier and never once regretted choosing this cozy, warm, beautiful place in Transcarpathia. The log house smells of wood and has plenty of amenities, including a wood-burning stove. Even having a bidet felt like a treat. The owner had clearly thought through the details. We arrived at lunchtime to find the stove already going and the house wonderfully warm. Outside, two cats were hoping for pets and food, and we were given sleds to enjoy as much as we liked. We hope to return in summer or September. I'd recommend Rakhiv Plai to anyone looking for quiet, time to meditate, and a chance to listen to themselves. Thank you!

We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful break. The views, fresh air, beauty, and quiet were incredible, and we're so grateful to the hosts for this magical place. The treehouse with its mountain views is a lovely touch. There are trampolines, a ping-pong table and rackets, a slide, swings, and a ball around the grounds. The hostess was wonderful, and so were the neighbors, who can provide cheese, cottage cheese, milk, and more. The cabin has all the dishes, toiletries, and bathroom supplies you'll need. There's also a built-in barbecue area with grills for meat and fish, skewers, and firewood. For groceries, you can go to the DU-MEN supermarket in Rakhiv. It's best to stock up for the whole stay because the old rocky military road up and down is unpleasant, and the drive takes about 30 minutes. It was an unforgettable stay, and I recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

The mountain scenery is amazing, and the mountain pasture is incredible, but there are more interesting places at this price. I was surprised by the high rating, especially since the owner said her daughter had put a lot of effort into promoting the place. The houses are old, our room hadn't been cleaned, and there was dust, hair under the bed, and very old cobwebs on the walls. The playground is falling apart, and I fell into a hole near the garbage can. When it rains, water leaks in several places. You also have to pay for the transfer, though this is mentioned on Booking. The owner was rude and wouldn't admit the shortcomings. I hadn't planned to write a review, but she replied to my wife's negative review by saying we made lots of noise and left a mess. We cleaned the room when we left and took out the trash. We don't drink, and we didn't play music. If our five-year-old child was noisy, that's another warning for families. The owner's negative replies on Google Maps are a warning too. Please clean properly before guests arrive and there won't be problems.
