Nile Park - Campsite

The Source of the Nile animal park, also called the recreation center or min-zoo, is the only park at the source of the river Nile. It has water animals such as snakes, crocodiles, and toatus, along with monkeys and other wild animals. There are swings and shaded seats. It’s a lovely spot for touring or relaxing, and feels suitable for both adults and children because of the safety.

They’ve moved to the agricultural show ground on bridge street, and the animals and reptiles have moved with them. The new place is still being developed, but I got to visit and had a great experience. The guide really knows his stuff and is passionate about his work.

We paid 15usd to get into “the park,” but there was nothing to see. The guide kept trying to sell us boat rides for 100-200usd. We only wanted to walk along the river, yet there was no way to reach it. All we were shown was a pier behind a locked gate, surrounded by vendors trying to sell things. The whole experience left a very poor impression. There’s absolutely nothing to offer here, so no one should charge admission.

There are very few animals, so I wouldn’t say it’s worth a visit. It might be fun for some young kids.
