Nile Village Hotel

The room had a nice atmosphere, and the meal itself tasted good and came out beautifully presented. We were a group of five, though, and three orders were wrong: baked fish arrived instead of grilled, an iced latte came instead of a hot one with ice on the side, and we got strawberry ice cream rather than vanilla. Several menu items were unavailable too, including vegetables, salads, and chicken drumsticks. There were lots of large groups in the restaurant while we were there.

The construction noise was so intense that you could hear it from the road, and it made the spa, sauna, steam room, and gym unusable even though they were listed as open. The pool was fully closed. I had booked 12 nights at Nile Village Hotel in November 2025 expecting a relaxing four-star stay, but none of these closures had been mentioned to me before I arrived, despite the hotel knowing the facilities had been closed since 1 November. Management gave me three ciders as minimal compensation and repeatedly couldn't give clear answers. I had to find somewhere else to stay myself, and they only eventually agreed to move me after I complained to Expedia. The experience fell far short of what was advertised, and the lack of transparency and care was extremely disappointing. One star service for four-star prices.

Getting there was easy, and the staff made us feel very welcome. It’s a beautiful place.

The place itself is beautiful, and that’s about the main reason to stay. Service was poor from the concierge through reception and the waiters, and they seemed quite comfortable with that level. I wouldn’t expect much from the food or service.
