There’s a campsite here, but I found the 100,000 shillings per night price far too high.

Quiet, lovely setting up on the hill, and it felt like we had a private bungalow. Prices are economical compared with other hotels, and the staff are friendly and committed. We really enjoyed it.

A Ugandan-owned hotel, with a cosy, romantic feel and great views from makanga hill. The service was great, and there’s WiFi and a restaurant.

The wait staff were very attentive and eager to help, though at times it felt a little awkward, almost as if the whole staff team was working just for us two guests. The bathroom was dusty and had cobwebs. Finding the place was confusing. Online it’s listed as Jowlis motel, and at a different site too, but when you arrive it’s miles away and called JoWillis hotel. Clarify the difference before setting off. We were apparently their first air BnB guests, though nobody mentioned that to us at the time. B&R
