For day visitors, the pool is affordable, and the neighborhood is quiet and laid back. Service was good, though it could be quicker. Some visitors occasionally make it noisy, but it’s still worth coming for an afternoon swim on a hot day.

I’ve been back to Bromelia Guesthouse five or six times. The rooms are clean, and the beds are so comfortable that I checked the mattress brand and bought one like it. There’s no AC, and the restaurant is good but slow. It’s a lovely, quiet place with a gardenlike feel, a real oasis away from Kampala.

The proprietors and staff are very friendly, and the place has a homely feel. It’s in a good location, away from the noisy parts of Makindye and Kansanga. Travelers can stay at the guest house and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, while day visitors can come for an afternoon swim. The small white dog adds to the atmosphere, and kids can have a good time here.
