Hotel City Square

City square sits in the middle of the city, opposite centenary Bank. It gets busy, and in the last week of each month there’s a cultural market exhibition with all kinds of things. It’s a one-stop centre for people in Kampala. The hotel City Square is also opposite city square, where you can sit down for coffee or fast food, or just relax.

With a window facing Kampala Road, I could watch the city stay busy day and night. The hotel is right in the center, close enough to walk to major buildings and banks. Rooms were clean and had the basics, including hot water, and breakfast was simple but served with a smile. Hard to beat the price for that location.

The continental breakfast was simple but nice, and the staff were very hospitable. It's an older, clean hotel with modest rooms. The downtown spot is super convenient, though it can get noisy now and then.

I stayed two nights mainly because the location was quite good. The room came with a fan, and at least the shower had hot water. Breakfast was very basic, and the whole place felt basic too. It was too bright and noisy for me to sleep, and just so you know, they only take cash.
