Hotel Le Bougainviller

The hotel has a calm, welcoming feel and a nice corporate-style ambiance. Bugolobi is a good location, close to the road. They’re doing some renovations at the moment.

At first, the French-style decor and character of this little hotel were appealing. The rooms are large and bright, and some have verandas. But for the price, there’s very little on offer: the bar and restaurant were always closed, the minibar was empty, and the rooms felt warm and humid because the air conditioning didn’t work. The bathroom had no toiletries or hairdryer. Reception staff were friendly, but couldn’t find a solution. It’s a pity, since the place has a lot of potential. Maybe it was better in the past.

The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable, and the location worked perfectly for exploring. I enjoyed the food and found the amenities excellent. I had a great recent stay and would definitely return.

Hotel Le Bougainviller is about 5 km from Kampala’s city centre, and the property has lovely Mediterranean-style terraced gardens. It feels peaceful, like a Provençal village in Uganda, with spacious, individually decorated bungalows that were impeccably clean and had private verandas overlooking the grounds. The rooms came with double beds, blackout curtains, minibars, satellite TVs, bottled water, and desks or workspaces. Wi-Fi was free and worked throughout the property. Ironing, laundry, free parking, and multilingual staff made things convenient. Breakfast was a delightful free English breakfast each morning, and the restaurant served Mediterranean and French-inspired food with a great selection of French wines. The staffed front desk runs 24/7, and housekeeping came daily. It’s a peaceful, safe-feeling getaway with professional, thoughtful service and modern comforts. Great for couples, business travelers, pet owners, or families. I’d happily come back.
