The setting up on the hill keeps the place away from Kampala's bustle, and the grounds and hotel itself are kept very clean. I spent a week there with my wife and two kids, and the restaurants served both local and international dishes to a high standard. The cocktails were great too, with plenty of choice. Make sure to book breakfast. The staff really made the stay, especially Robert, all three Ivans, Jennifer, Winnie, Annet and Shamilah at reception. And the two cats deserve a mention as well. I'd happily stay again, 10/10.

The rooftop pool has lovely city views, and the hotel's location in Kampala is great. It's a stylish, modern place, with clean, comfortable rooms that have what you need. Staff were friendly and quick to help, and the restaurant and bar had tasty food and drinks. Worked well for my business and leisure stay.

The hotel was so beautiful that I brought my parents there a few weeks later when they came to visit me in Kampala. I'd first been for Sunday brunch and stayed overnight. The service was outstanding, and Charles, our waiter, took some really nice photos of us. There was nothing I could fault, and I'm definitely coming back many times.

Fred, the head of security, walked me across the property to show me the gym after I casually asked where it was. Rebecca in the restaurant was professional and friendly the whole stay, and I never saw her without a smile. We were welcomed by Shamilla, whose warm personality and smile got the trip off to a lovely start. The food was good too. My one complaint is that at breakfast I was ignored both times until I got up to get a waiter's attention. Since I'm muzungu and it happened to me too, I don't think it was racism. It seems more like newer hires need training. I'd stay there again. Thanks to Ivan E., Shamilla, Fred and Rebecca for the outstanding service.

My first visit last July was great, a five star experience, but coming back this month felt very different. Some restaurants and the gym have closed or been moved to make room for conference rooms. Prices are higher, and I paid more for a room that was much lower in quality. I'm really disappointed by how much has changed since that first stay.
