Le Petit Village Hotel & Spa

There's a restaurant and basic amenities on site, and it's a lovely place to stay. I booked a deep massage with Jacqueline, and she worked wonders. Five out of five for the treatment and the peaceful surroundings.

Update: My first rating was three stars. Thanks to Patience from management for getting in touch to better understand my issue. I used to be fond of this hotel and had visited many times for lunch or coffee meetings. At the June Sunday bottomless brunch, I won a spa massage voucher. The reception staff were lovely and attentive when I booked for the following week, but the masseuse I was assigned to was very rude. It was a massage booking for two, and I said I wanted to wait for my friend so we could share the experience. Going ahead without her would have spoiled it. The masseuse insisted I go first alone, even after I said I didn't want to. She seemed bothered, gave me a lot of attitude, told me to sit back down like a school kid, then left reception in a bad mood. I found out there were only two masseuses at the spa, so I decided not to use the voucher. I didn't feel comfortable with that masseuse, and with two of us and two of them, either my friend or I would have been assigned to her. Her attitude spoiled the mood, and I probably wouldn't use the spa in future if she were the one treating me.

The area around the hotel wasn't especially impressive, but it didn't take much away from my stay. My room was very nice, clean, comfortable and stylish, and the staff made me feel well looked after throughout. I'd definitely recommend it for the accommodation and hospitality.

The café still has a pleasant atmosphere, but I miss the old Le petite. I used to head there as soon as I arrived in Kampala, and it's gone downhill even since last year. It feels like profit is being put ahead of customer satisfaction. Compared with my last visit in 2016, the change is drastic and the quality has clearly dropped. My Greek salad was mostly tomatoes and onions, with hardly any olives or cheese, so it barely seemed like a proper Greek salad. Then the manager insisted my juice was freshly made, though I found that hard to believe. The taste suggested otherwise, and ruined what should have been a relaxing evening.
