Materwood Hotel

The chef's selection of bites is limited, but tasty. You can enjoy them in a serene green garden, with plenty of secure parking. It's a decent, quiet place for a chat or a small get-together in the evening or over the weekend.

The garden is green and spacious, and the surroundings are tidy and peaceful. There’s also a sauna, steam bath, massage, cocktail bar, and conference room, among other things. I wasn't keen on the seasoning on my order. There was too much, and it made the meat taste salty.

The place is clean and quiet, but I had a problem with the security at night. If you go out for a drink, you can end up standing outside for almost an hour waiting for someone to open the gate, and it's not safe to wait out there for long. Please make sure the gate man stays awake and does his job. I think they work in shifts.

The place has a lot of potential, with a large area that could work well for events. It needs more lighting, though, and the bakery is very nice. The rooms felt a bit cramped, with too few windows in both the rooms and hallways. It didn't feel much like a hotel or a home away from home. The washrooms and toilet smelled bad, and with the way they're set up, you might not be able to sleep. Maybe it was just that one time. Parking is adequate, but an event like a wedding could fill it up. Security didn't seem to be a priority: I parked and entered without anyone checking, random people wandered around the premises and event without a clear purpose, and I wouldn't be surprised if the cameras didn't work. The fences don't have barbed wire or anything like that.
