David, the owner, is a birder and guide who can arrange tours, and the place is run in a very friendly way. My room was comfortable, and it’s peaceful. Planes do pass right over the garden because it’s close to the airport, though not often, and I noticed them without feeling disturbed. I loved it as a place to recover after a long journey.

The shoebill tour was wonderful, but at $65 per person I think the price should be reconsidered. The place itself is tidy, safe, and lovely, with greenery and birds, and the people are very sweet. The mosquito net in the room next to reception should be replaced. Entebbe aitport is close, so planes taking off and landing can be loud, though there aren’t many at night.

David made the place from scratch, which is impressive, and we wish him the best for the future. He treated us like friends, from our first WhatsApp chats through to taking us to the airport at the end of our stay. We spent one night in a small house for $15. The shared bathroom was clean, and there’s a kitchen you can use for a small gas or electricity fee. I’d suggest ordering dinner from David instead, it was fresh and excellent. Thanks for hosting us!

The beach is great, and the place is beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. There weren’t any annoying sellers around. Well done to the owners 🎉
