My first room was 102, above the area where smokers gather, so I could hear them chatting well past midnight. The late-night residents' door also slams like a bomb if you let it shut on its own. I know the bar has a late licence, but I asked to move rooms in the morning and the hotel was more than happy to help. Room 207 at the back was excellent and away from the noise. The bar and restaurant looked amazing, though I didn't get to enjoy them because I had my dog with me. They don't charge for dogs, unlike some other places in Aberdeen. Despite the poor first experience, I'd definitely stay again. The price is excellent for the West end of Aberdeen, and the hotel really suits me and the dog.

The pub food was great, and the room was a good size, clean and tidy. This was my second stay, and I'm pretty sure the place has been done up since my last visit. Only downside is there's no breakfast, though there are plenty of places nearby. I'll be back.

The restaurant staff were pleasant. But there was an odd, unpleasant smell in both the corridor and the room, and I spotted several cigarette butts in a flower box on the windowsill, even though the hotel is non-smoking.

The food was so good, and the ambience was pretty nice too. I loved the Mac N Cheese, it tasted delicious and was well worth trying.

The bar is usually busy and has a great atmosphere. Food is great as well, and the staff were friendly. Definitely go visit.
