We held an event here this Saturday, and everything went smoothly. The food was delicious, and the staff and kitchen team were so helpful throughout. The garden was a real favourite, with lots of safe green space for the children to play and explore. This was our second event here, and we'll definitely be back. Such a brilliant place to celebrate.

The lovely wait staff and beautiful grounds were the bright spots. The location by the park, within walking distance of the town centre, was perfect too. But the room and the atmosphere let us down, so although we'd booked two nights, we left after one. At £140 a night, we expected more. The rooms were extremely small, felt dated, and lacked basics like an iron and hair dryer. A noisy group outside woke us and kept us up for hours, making for a terrible night's sleep. The food was just average, and parking was limited, so we had to use and pay for a local car park. We came away disappointed, as the setting and staff have so much potential.

Room 67 had a lovely river view, and the location and setting deserve 5 stars. But I wouldn't rate the stay 5 stars. I can't remember the suite name, but the room needs updating: the colour felt depressing, the carpet was worn, the paint was chipped and there was a draught from the window. From outside, the building looked more like a community centre or an old people's home. Breakfast wasn't to my taste, though there were plenty of options.

The gardens and river view are what made this place memorable, along with being able to walk into town. Staff were around and helpful, and breakfast in the sunroom was pleasant. A delightful place.

The buffet at Cosener's House was a hit with all our guests: a tasty, nicely presented spread of hot dishes, wraps and sandwiches. We held a surprise birthday party at this beautiful venue, and everyone enjoyed celebrating there. The staff were polite and couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent service!
