Ambleside Salutation Hotel

Our room had everything we needed, including a very private jacuzzi. We ate in the restaurant one evening and really enjoyed the meal, and breakfast was excellent. The spa was excellent too, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. It’s centrally located, with the lake about a 15 minute walk away. We had a wonderful weekend and would highly recommend the hotel.

The staff really made the stay special. They were attentive and helpful, and great with our young kids. We also found the hotel very clean, with a comfortable room of a good size and everything well appointed. Breakfast and dinner over the three days were both very good. The bar area was nice, and we enjoyed the pool and spa facilities. We’ll be back soon.

We chose a premium stay for an anniversary and birthday treat, and had a perfect weekend. Olive Mews was a superb room, with a steam room, sauna and double jacuzzi. The lounge areas are beautifully furnished, with plenty of seating where you can have privacy. The hotel sits right in the heart of town, so we parked the car and left it there for the whole stay. In my opinion, you don’t find many traditional hotels like this anymore. Everyone we met provided excellent service. Thank you, the Salutation.

During our two nights we got to try two different rooms. The town was having partial power cuts and ours went completely dark, but the staff were wonderful and found us another room for the night. We also had a spa booking, and the massage was excellent. The two hot tubs and pool were great. There were lots of friendly staff, lovely breakfasts and great rooms. Thanks Salutation, we’ll be back.
