Ees Wyke Country House

We had a fantastic time over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. This was our second stay at ess wyke, and it’s an absolutely lovely place. The rooms are beautiful, the food outstanding, and the views over the hills and the local walks are lovely too. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer. Richard and his staff are fantastic. I’d recommend it to anyone. Thank you.

The garden is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and there are Peter Rabbits ancestors everywhere!! We had incredible lake views and a peaceful setting. The traditional rooms were spotless and had everything we needed. Breakfasts were exceptional, dinner was delicious and faultless, and there was a great wine selection. From arrival, Richard and the team looked after us with the care and attention of a 5 star hotel. Attention to detail and high standards are front and centre at Ees Wyke. It was our most perfect, peaceful Lake District experience in many years and many visits. You can charge an EV easily at a fair price. Richard and the team are a credit to tourism in the UK.

We booked the sunshine room and were very pleased with it. It was large and bright, with lovely views across the lake, and the room and en-suite were spotless and cleaned daily. This beautiful country house has spectacular views and sits in gorgeous countryside, making it a great base for exploring. Our three night break included breakfast, which was amazing, with plenty of choice for every palate. Evening meals are available too. The owner and his team made the stay very special. Great value for money, and we’ll definitely be back.

The rooms are a little dated, but spotless and equipped with everything you need. There’s a beautiful old worldly charm here, with lovely views of the lake and wildlife. The food was great and the chef excellent. Service was fabulous, with warm, friendly staff. Little touches are everywhere, like freshly baked scones and tea on arrival, plus a great choice of tea and coffee in the rooms.
