Peacocks wander about this lovely, characterful Manor house, and the setting is wonderfully peaceful. The welcome was very friendly, and breakfast was fabulous, especially the apple juice made from the orchard.

We stayed in the self-catered orchard cottage on Katie's farm, which also has bed and breakfast accommodation. Waking up to the peacocks and chickens was lovely. They all have their own personalities, and my son had such a great time. He named the peacocks, hens, geese and pigs, made some friends over the Easter break, and could roam around without us worrying too much. The TV barely got used, which says it all about how much there was to enjoy. It was well worth the stay. I hope we'll be back again soon.

I spent a couple of nights here and came away feeling completely refreshed. It's so quiet and homely that I could easily have stayed for a week. There's no WiFi, but I was glad to have a few days away from it. The period property is full of wonderful architecture and character, and it's been kept in tip-top condition. The rooms and lounge are comfortable and very well presented. There are plenty of places to walk nearby, with lots of wildlife around, and Brecon and the coast are only a short journey away. A charming place that really deserves a stay. Well done to the owners for such a great B&B.

The breakfast was a horror show: black mouldy fruit, stale cereal and dusty milk. The electrics were broken, so there was no working toaster or kettle. The full English looked so miserable I thought it might throw itself off the nearest cliff. I tried the fried bread and said a prayer that I wouldn't be sick. There were no staff around, like the Mary Celeste. When we left, we finally spoke to the manager, who had a fake neck brace and all the charm of a pitbull with aids. She was condescending, ignored our complaints, then laughed as she walked off and slammed the door. I tried to get my money back through hotels.com, but that didn't work. The room was disgusting and very dirty. You could see footprints on the carpet, and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. It seemed like a good room for smoking crack in. There were cracked window panes, layers of dust older than the titanic, and more bugs and flying creatures than the London Natural History Museum. The outdated bacolite switches and extension leads plugged into each other seemed to supply power to all the rooms. The room light kept flickering and made it feel like a Nazi interrogation room. We left as early as we could because we just wanted out. We couldn't cancel, since we'd come all the way from Derbyshire and it was too late once we saw the room. The pictures were extremely misleading and photoshoped. The place felt like a dark, dank hovel of depression, with cleaner homeless shelters behind Asda's bins. It was so dyer even the refugees would go back across the chanel on their dingy. On arrival we were greeted by the butler from tomb raider, while deranged mentally ill guests wandered the halls muttering at the ceiling like inmates at the asylum. Definitely wouldn't stay again or recommend it. If you want dusty, outdated rooms run by a mentally unstable Karen who laughs like the seagull outside the police station, and food so dyer even Bobby Sands would refuse it, this is the place for you. Avoid at all costs!
