The Dog And Partridge Country Inn

We had a lovely stay at the start of December. Our room was clean and cosy, with a wonderful view and even our own little Christmas tree. The welcome was friendly, and both the dinner one evening and the generous cheese board the next were excellent. We’d love to return when the weather’s warmer and make use of more of what’s on offer.

On the way back from Thor’s Cave, we stopped at the Dog and Partridge and were glad we did. It has the feel of a proper country pub, with a welcoming atmosphere, very friendly staff and amazing food at reasonable prices. We also bought some bespoke beer to take home as a gift for a family member. Definitely recommend.

The food was lovely and came in large portions. We parked our motorhome here, but you need to call ahead to book. Parking is free if you eat in, with an extra £10 if you need hook up. You can choose the bar or restaurant for your meal, and dogs are welcome in the bar.

David was so welcoming after our unbelievably wet day at Alton towers, and even offered to dry my shoes. The care shown to guests generally really stood out and was much appreciated. We stayed one night for a short break at the park. The room was very clean and lovely, set apart from the main building, with parking right outside and a private feel. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely too, especially the burger. Would highly recommend.
