Conningbrook Hotel

This made a great overnight stop before an early trip to Le Shuttle. Check-in was quick and easy, the rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and the hotel rooms had a refurb in Sep ‘25. The pub food was good as well. We left before reception was staffed, but the drop key box made early checkout simple. For the price, we’d definitely include it in future France trip plans.

The welcome was great, and our room was nicely decorated, warm, with a really nice bathroom. There’s a good pub attached, though we didn’t eat at the restaurant. The stay was very disappointing because of the noise. We were in room 25, and the people above seemed to walk around all night. From 4.00am, we could hear the floorboards shifting across the whole room. There was also a toilet waste pipe in the corner, and every flush sounded as if it were in our room. The mattress wasn’t great, and I woke with a bad back. I went to reception at 20.00, but nobody was there. I may have missed instructions on how to get in touch, but I couldn’t find a way to reach anyone.

We had a really pleasant stay with our dog. The staff were welcoming and helpful the whole time. It’s nice to have a hotel and pub where you can get a good meal and drink downstairs, then go up to a peaceful, comfortable room. We enjoyed our visit and would happily stay again when passing through.

I wasn’t sure about booking at first, but the stay turned out much better than I expected. The outside may not catch your eye, but inside the rooms were lovely, clean and modern, and very comfortable. The pub food was good value, and the staff were exceptional. I’d happily recommend the hotel and hope to return soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
