That lovely log fire and the local sort-of atmosphere make it a welcoming place. Friendly service and great food added up to a thoroughly enjoyable occasion and a satisfying meal. I’ve been several times and will certainly be back.

We stopped here overnight while travelling and really enjoyed both the stay and dinner. The pub has rooms, just as you’d want, and the welcome was friendly, with excellent service throughout. The dinner menu was excellent, the cooking was to a high standard, and it was great value. They were also very welcoming to dogs and made a huge fuss of our little doggo.

The garden was lovely in the sunshine for lunch. I had the homemade beef pie, without the pie bit because of my annoying dairy allergy, and it gets top marks. It’s very dog friendly, though I didn’t have my dogs with me. People are welcome too!!!!

Nikki and her husband are fantastic hosts, with Jasper as head of fun. The food was great, and we had a great night’s sleep in a very comfy bed. We’re looking forward to coming back. We stayed for a night as a holiday stopover. Our room looked over the beer garden and was clean, fresh, and had everything we needed. Dinner was lovely, as was breakfast, and the bar is beautifully decorated. We felt very welcome.
