Breakfast was a real highlight, with a freshly cooked meal and a generous buffet of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast, the owner’s homemade jam, milk and juice. There was a good choice of tea and coffee too. The sausages were big, juicy and clearly not the cheap kind. Our bed was comfortable, the cotton bedding lovely, and the shower was large and clean. The old-fashioned windows open, with tilt-and-turn double glazing inside, so we could let in fresh air in the evening. Blinds and curtains kept the rooms nice and dark. There are two beautiful lounges that looked inviting, though we didn’t use them. I believe they have fires, games and books.

We were worried the road might be noisy, but even during the hot bank holiday, with the windows shut, our room stayed sleepable. It wasn’t cool, but it wasn’t too warm either. The owner was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and our room was well equipped and nicely decorated for an old building. Breakfast was excellent, both the cooked food and the cereal and toast buffet. We also liked being able to use the shared spaces and garden. There’s plenty of parking, and two pubs within walking distance, plus two more in Axbridge a short drive away. It’s handy for the Mendips, Wells and Cheddar, as well as Weston, Bream and Burnham, with Bristol not too far off. We’d certainly stay again. Top BnB!

Graham was a great host, showing us to our room, explaining the place and taking our breakfast order in a friendly, professional way. We were in the area for a wedding and couldn’t get a room at a local hotel, so we found this hidden gem and were very glad we did. Our double room was spacious, with a large bathroom and shower and all the amenities we needed. The bed was comfortable, there were plenty of plugs, and we slept really well. We’d love an excuse to come back to Old Manor. Thanks again.

Graham welcomed us when we arrived, then made us a delicious breakfast the next morning. There was a fantastic range of juices and jams. We’d be delighted to return. Thank you, Graham!

The rooms were spotless, breakfast impeccable, and the host was friendly throughout. They went well beyond what you’d expect. The photo captures the attention to detail across the place. It looks like a carefully staged Instagram shot, but apparently that’s just an average Saturday morning!
