The room was clean and spacious, and I was glad it had both a bath and a shower. The price is very reasonable, so expectations should be set accordingly. In my room, the sockets were all on the side opposite the bed, which left my CPAP lead across the floor as a trip hazard and meant my phone had to charge on the other side. There was room for clothes, but only hangers and shelves, no drawers or cupboards. The staff made a good first impression: the person I called beforehand was helpful and accommodating, and the woman who checked me in was friendly and welcoming. It was easy to reach while travelling south, though the entrance turn is sharp, so take care. The car park was crowded and could use minor repairs. The restaurant sharing it seems popular. The receptionist was absolutely lovely and really accommodating. Great customer service, and I was very happy with it. It's a nice, quiet spot away from town, but still easy to get to. I'd recommend it for the friendly service.

We were made to feel welcome, and my children, dog and I felt safe and comfortable in our room. The hotel was clean and the staff were lovely and friendly. Transport problems meant we stayed an extra night. I'd definitely use the hotel again if I'm in the area.

We had a comfortable king-sized bed, and the dog was very welcome. It cost £15 for two nights, though free stays for dogs might be worth considering. The simple breakfast, cereal and toast and so on, adds to the good value. It would be good to have a closer link with the restaurant and bar next door, perhaps with a cooked breakfast included in the price. The room is ready for refurbishment, but it's the best-value option around here, especially with a bath. It was just right for our trip with the dog and to hitchin 🐕.
