Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross

The pool area was nice and breakfast was fine, but our Valentine’s Day visit felt fairly average. Around 2-3pm we asked for a light snack at the bar/restaurant and were told there was no food available unless we ordered the full Valentine’s three-course meal or got room service. The bar/restaurant wasn’t busy, so it seemed a simple snack could easily have been accommodated. We also noticed one bartender seemed to misprice drinks each time he made them, which was concerning.

I stayed with my fiance and we couldn’t have asked for better service. A technical issue meant Ibraheem upgraded our room, then went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. His friendly conduct makes me think he could become a manger. I’d definitely recommend the hotel, and think Ibraheem and the whole staff deserve recognition for their professionalism.

I’ve stayed here for work for 21 nights across 5 months, so I’ve had time to get a good feel for the place. The hotel is being refurbished and room standards currently vary a bit, so I’m focusing on the newest rooms as they’re rolled out. The refreshed rooms feel sparkling, with modern minimalist soft furnishings and good lighting, including warm, dim settings for reading or relaxing at night. Robes and slippers are provided too, which I appreciate. The lobby is welcoming, with an infused water station. Guests can also use the gym, pool and spa, which look well equipped and maintained. Ultrasonic scent systems give the hotel a fresh feel. There’s plenty of parking, and it’s free for hotel guests. Breakfast has mostly been successful, with a comprehensive spread of morning goods. While the restaurant is being refurbished, they’re trialling cook-to-order service when the hotel is quieter. It improves the food, though service takes a little longer, so it’s worth leaving a few extra minutes. Housekeeping does a great job turning rooms around at check-in, though the daily service can sometimes seem rushed. Occasionally mugs, glasses or bins haven’t been changed. I can overlook that because the staff are friendly and seem committed to making guests’ stays pleasant. The front of house and front desk teams are friendly. Rav brought water up to my room, and the FOH manager very kindly upgraded my room while we were chatting at check-in. Thanks to the FOH team for several enjoyable stays that have felt like a home away from home.

The spa was the cherry on the cake during a really relaxing Sunday night for my girlfriend’s birthday. The hotel was stylish and immaculately clean, and the staff took great care of us, always friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were both great, with plenty to choose from. The beds were big and comfortable too.
