The village made a lovely base for walks, and we enjoyed visiting the nearby church for photos. We also tried a local pub, with an interesting walk there. Izzy helped us find everything and was on hand whenever we needed something. We came as 13 people of different ages, and the cabins worked really well for the group. The rooms were spotless and thoughtfully laid out, with soft towels and tea making facilities in each one. The Nest had loads of seating and a huge table, so it was ideal for meals, games and hanging out. Our grandsons used the Hive, another party room, to play pool. There are two kitchen areas with fridge freezers, hobs and an oven, plus plenty of cutlery, crockery and room to store food. It felt magical for everyone, even our teenagers.

We had our wedding weekend at the Ecolodges in August ‘22, and the photos turned out great. People kept commenting on how stunning the setting was. The venue was flexible about our requests, and the on-site warden was a real help getting our suppliers organised. I’d happily recommend it for a weekend event or gathering.

The hosts really tried to help with anything we asked for, and the shared space had everything our family needed. We had 17 people together, and although the rooms are small, they’re nice. It’s a beautiful, quiet area.

The sleeping pods were comfortable and nicely decorated, and the staff were lovely. There’s plenty of parking, a huge dining area, and a separate building for parties or relaxing away from the sleeping area. The location is lovely too. The road up is a bit bumpy, but it wasn’t a problem. Highly recommend.

I stayed in the Jay room while walking the greensand ridge, and it made for a very pleasant stop. The place is in a remote, generally quiet spot, with less light pollution if you fancy watching the sky or looking for bats. The room was very clean and had the basics you’d expect, plus really fluffy towels. It’s an interesting place that puts a lot of effort into being as eco friendly as possible. I took off a star because the room is quite expensive for its size.
