Comfort Inn Birmingham

I stayed on a room-only basis. The room was comfortable and had an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub. The hotel is conveniently close to Birmingham New Street railway station and the Bull Ring shopping centre.

I booked this at the last minute because my usual hotel was full. The price was fairly cheap at £54, but the room was disgraceful. There was a condom under the bed. I hadn’t lifted the bed, just moved it a little, and housekeeping should have found it. A towel had a skid mark on it, which disgusted me. I told the bloke at reception, and he only smiled and shrugged. In the morning, the West Indian lady was very nice and apologetic, but this is unacceptable.

We had a delightful stay. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms are absolutely fine for the price. The windows are warm, fresh and open fully. You’re just a stone’s throw from New Street and the Bull Ring. I’d recommend it 👌

This is a two-star hotel, and that’s what you get. The room was very clean, the staff were nice, and it’s right by the station. Somehow I slept decently, despite the next building’s air-conditioning units running through the night. There’s no food service, the sash windows are single glazed, the bathroom ceiling has a brown stain, and the lift is antiquated. Don’t stay here unless you’re prepared for the absolute basics. I was here because it was my work’s preferred choice and it’s cheap.
