ibis budget Birmingham International Airport - NEC

We picked the budget Ibis because we only needed somewhere to sleep before our morning flight. Check-in was easy and the room was basic, clean and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant, where Matt was very friendly and helpful. There was no hairdryer in the room, which is a minor first-world problem, and it hasn't affected my rating. For what I paid, it was good and I'd stay again.

Gaurav made us feel very welcome with friendly, attentive service. The food was good too, and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The simple room had what we needed before setting off on our flight. An easy, hassle-free stop, and we'd happily come back.

Matt was jolly, friendly and very professional when he served us in the ground-floor restaurant. He looked smart and well presented, and I'm guessing he's the supervisor or manager. Some of the other staff didn't seem very happy, and a few could do with ironing their clothes. The meal was great: my son and I both had the chicken burger, and my husband said his ribs were very good and tasty. Our room had too few electrical outlets and a blocked sink. We'll use this hotel again when we get back from our holiday.

The key didn't work at first, but the staff fixed it quickly and professionally. Everyone was friendly, and the bar and restaurant were pleasant with good service. It's a budget hotel, so the facilities are basic. Our room was clean and had enough to keep us comfortable. I don't think it's good value for money, but there aren't any close alternatives.
