Premier Inn Birmingham City - Waterloo St

The location is very convenient, and the room was spacious and spotless, with a comfortable mattress as advertised. The linen was clean, though not immaculate. Pauline gave us a warm welcome and check-in was smooth. Staff in general were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had lots of variety, but the cooked items were hit and miss, with some overdone and others undercooked. Even with those small flaws, I’d recommend the hotel.

Ellie from housekeeping was great when we needed extra pillows and towels, and nothing was too much trouble. We arrived late and Gary was there to greet us. He was lovely and very helpful since it was our first visit. The hotel was lovely and clean, and the staff made our stay perfect. It makes things more comfortable when a hotel has such great people working there 😀

The location made for a peaceful stay, even with the Cathedral Square Christmas Market and the Frankfurt Christmas Market nearby. We could also walk to the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, which I’d highly recommend. Breakfast was good, especially the cooked choices. The hotel is clean and comfortable, just a short walk from Birmingham railway station, across a small road from the Cathedral, which we could see from our room. Our family room had enough space, though extra hooks would have helped in winter with jackets, clothes, and towels to hang up. The single bed had one pillow and the king had two, with another pair stored in the cabinet. They were quite flat, but we managed by adding a jacket or neck pillow. The mattress was very soft and dipped by the headboard, so we turned around and slept with our feet at that end. With those adjustments, we slept deeply and peacefully.

I found the staff very pleasant and polite, and felt safe in the area, though I didn’t stay out late. It’s handy for trains and buses, shopping areas, pubs, and places to eat. My room was clean, tidy, and well maintained. I didn’t hear noise from inside the hotel, but traffic outside was loud through much of the night and into the morning. I’m a light sleeper, so didn’t get much sleep. This is just about the side of the building where my room was.
