Originally a 16th century farmhouse, this friendly country inn is set in its own grounds, overlooking the small town of Blackwood, near Newport, with the Brecon Beacons within easy reach. Pengam Brewers Lodge is a pub, restaurant & event suite with accommodation, all rooms are on the 1st floor above so you may experience some noise. Room rates are room only, our restaurant isn't open for breakfast but there are lots of cafes nearby. Train Station is 2. 7 miles away and there is a bus interchange just 0. 5 miles away. There are 15 modern en-suite rooms, each with satellite TV. WiFi access is available throughout. Brewers Lodge was once owned by the family of the infamous Captain Henry Morgan. Just a short distance from some of the region’s most beautiful woodland, the lodge is nevertheless within easy reach of the cities of Newport, Cardiff and Bristol.

We had a lovely stay, with comfortable, clean rooms, a brilliant atmosphere and very friendly staff. The pub food was good, and the Sunday carvery was great. There’s plenty of parking, and complimentary toiletries, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. It’s a good place for adults or families. We wish we had somewhere like this near us and would highly recommend it.

A friendly place with a great atmosphere around the bar and restaurant. The rooms were nice, the staff were great, and the food was absolutely brilliant. It’s a great place to stay while working away, and I’ll definitely book again next time I’m working down here.

A good place for single guests, couples or families, with rooms that are great for the price. They serve meals, though not breakfast. There are TVs in the bar and you can get a drink there.

The bar and table service was good, but the Sunday carvery wasn’t cooked properly. It was nothing like Toby carvery.

My daughter had her shower party here on 28th June, and the whole day was amazing. The venue, food and decorations were all great, and the staff gave first-class service from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble. I work in hospitality and really enjoyed spending such a special day at your venue. Thank you.
